In 1750 a great aural leviathan was torn to the ground. His skull was severed; his limbs, spread across the globe in different vaults lined in shimmering obsidian nullalloy, never to be opened once the debris was covertly dropped inside. Guilty orchestrators were dragged bloody through the streets and every scrap of sheet music was torched to cindering carbon, remnant after remnant being scooped up and crushed in the hands of the survivors left in Bach's wake. The music would never be performed again — the world had gone through too much to believe that death was ever an option for Bach, and they knew his that hands would still lurk through the notes he penned in ink and bile, permanent anchors of his presence to reality. So long as the compositions went forgotten by time he would never return.

It is with great fortune that today on February 4th, 2021, we have rediscovered those compositions.

DarkBach is a set of sequentially datamoshed and broken audio files of "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" turned from music to gurgles unmistakably from the deepest, darkest trenches of the Maleb.ogg. The file I was originally going to use for the opening track, DarkBach1, got so fucked that I couldn't convert it to wav properly to upload it here, so DarkBachA is included as its (relatively similar) substitute (which only matters of you're neurotic like me over audio infrasonics).
